Well, it might be a winnable game, but they all should. That D stats Todd highlighted is really scary. Just keep building and developing, the wins will follow. |

I’d prefer to see Wood up on the third line with Zacha and Bratt. Zacha isn’t exceptionally quick but with Bratt and Wood that line could cause some problems. |

I'm thinking it'll be a 3-2 game either way, maybe 4-2 if Karlsson gets going and puts in a pair. |

Hayes and Lovejoy need to go Mueller still needs some work think he needs to fix his confidence |

Very winnable game tonight. If the preseason matchup means anything then the Devils speed should give them fits and present a lot of scoring opportunities. They are not the same team from last year. |

Well to get into stats Todd, here are some stats so far this year for the Devils:
1) Devils Defensemen have been a part of 16 of the Devils 25 goals this year. Which is a good sign, but Severson has even more to contribute as he only has 2pts. and 11 SOG. Plus he as being a top pairing guy must stop careless turnovers.
2) Against the Caps, TB and Toronto three high powered offenses and maybe the best in the league the Devils were out-shot 115-88 but managed 2 wins and an even goal differential 12GF-12GA. 50% of the GA were on the power-play compared to the Devils 33% so the Devils won the 5v5 battle.
3) Against the likes of more average offensive teams Colorado, Buffalo and NYR the Devils were still out-shot 94-89 but had a plus +7 goal differential 12GF-5GA. They have gone 3-0 so far in these games.
4) Lastly, I know the PK has seemed to be an issue but the Devils gave up 6 of their 7 PPGA in games vs. Toronto, Washington and TB. Those teams were a combined 6-for-18 (33%) on the PP against the Devs. In contrast the latter teams were a mere 1-for-13 (7%) on the PP against the Devils.
Simply put the Devils will not face the top offenses in the league every night so as long as they continue to play the way they have they will be heading in the right direction, but will eventually need to figure out how to stop these high powered offenses and not taking penalties would be a great start! |

Would you know how many of those shots against were high quality chances verses the devils shots that were high quality. I am not doubting anything you are saying, just wanted to see if we can dig deeper. I would do the research, but I am just about to get back to work from lunch. |

They've only given up 9 goals in 6 game sand 4 of those were against Washington in the season opener. They shut out the Flames and held the Oil to 1 goal. Anyway it should be a great game, the Devils look awesome so far. |
